Sin City lived up to its name once again. A report from WalletHub found that Las Vegas led all cities in America in with a total sin rating of 59.53, but three cities from the Sunshine State managed to crack the top 10 making Florida the most sinful state.

This sinful score of 59.53 is based on in-depth analysis of the 7 Deadly Sins (Anger & Hate, Jealousy, Excess & Vices, Avarice, Lust, Vanity, and Laziness). You can find a complete breakdown of the methodology here on WalletHub, but first let’s take a look at the most sinful cities in America:

1. Las Vegas (ranks #1 in Vanity and #3 in Greed)
2. Orlando, FL (ranks #5 in Anger & Hatred and #6 in Lust)
3. Miami, FL (ranks #5 in Jealousy and #7 in both Lust and Vanity)
4. St. Louis, MO
5. North Las Vegas, NV
6. Henderson, NV
7. Detroit, MI (ranks #5 in Excesses & Vices)
8. Baton Rouge, LA
9. Tampa, FL
10. New Orleans, LA (ranks #9 in Greed)
11. Richmond, VA
12. Cincinnati, OH
13. Charleston, WV (ranks #1 in Anger & Hatred and #1 in Excesses & Vices)
14. Dover, DE
15. Gulfport, MS

The report/rankings on WalletHub go all the way from 1 to 182. So if you didn’t see your home city in the top 15 there’s a decent chance you can find out where it’s ranked in the top 180. Just follow that link to WalletHub and click on over if you’re curious.

As for why I think Florida is ranked as the Most Sinful State over Nevada even though there were 3 cities from Nevada in the top 10? Well, North Las Vegas is on the list. That feels like adding Miami and Miami Beach. It seems like cheating. They’re distinct cities, yes, but they feel like one in the same. Whereas Tampa, Miami, and Orlando are all separated by 100+ miles as the crow flies.
