Four people had the chance to win a free car as part of the “Stinkin’ Sentra” contest that was held at this year’s Oklahoma State Fair, but the competition has found itself shrouded in controversy after the victor was accused of filling a cup with poop from a portable toilet to gain an edge.

The Oklahoma State Fair typically attracts around a million people each year, and visitors started flocking to Oklahoma City earlier this month when the annual gathering kicked off on September 12th.

Attendees were able to take advantage of a list of attractions like the Crackin’ Corn Comedy Show, Flyin’ Fiddler Wayne Cantwell, and a “Goat Milking Experience,” and starting last Thursday, they were also able to walk by the car that served as the grand prize in what was dubbed the “Stinkin’ Sentra” contest.

According to KOCO, the concept was pretty straightforward: four contestants who signed up for the battle of endurance got into a 2024 Nissan Sentra at 11 A.M. on Thursday knowing they’d be disqualified if they left for any reason. They were allowed to take a bathroom break every three hours, but that was the only time they were allowed to get out (remnants of any food that was consumed also needed to remain in the vehicle).

On Sunday evening, Brian Richmond of Checotah, Oklahoma clinched the victory when Arkansas resident Chris Deschner called it quits, but things took a very interesting turn after the runner-up accused the winner of resorting to an incredibly unsavory (and unsanitary) strategy to get him to quit.

After the contest came to an end, Deschner uploaded a video to Facebook where he outlined what transpired before he tapped out, saying Richmond came back to the car after what ended up being the final bathroom break with a “cup of s— out of the porta-potty” that he subsequently place in the back window.

Deschner said he alerted the organizers of the contest and claims they told him Richmond had violated the rules against bringing things into the car but declined to issue a disqualification, and he refused to get back into the Sentra out of “self-respect” while subsequently handing the win to his competitor.

I honestly can’t help but respect the competitive drive of someone who will scoop poop out of a toilet at a state fair in an attempt to win a competition, but it’s hard to blame Deschner for being salty about what went down.
