Regardless of what you think about the Harlem Shake meme, there’s no denying there’s a formula to it. A formula that requires multiple people. This college girl’s solo Harlem Shake fails right off the bat.
I want to be wrong about this girl. I want this to be full of irony and subtle social commentary about how Internet memes exist only to replace the sense of belonging that their purveyors are missing in their day to day life. I desperately want to believe this girl has so much more.
But all I see is a girl futilely thrusting her hips in a restroom like she’s Ben Roethlisberger. And all hope is lost.
