Philadelphia Crossing Guard Gives Interview Of The Year: Who Is Jamele Ransom?
Jamele Ransom said he feared for his life when the stolen truck came barrelling down the road and crashed into the playground. He told a local news station that he is “thankful to be alive right now. Thank you, Jesus.”
The incident occurred near S. Weir Mitchell Elementary School in Philadelphia this Tuesday, May 5th. According to officials, the driver of the stolen vehicle had tried to carjack a woman near the 6300 block of Grays Avenue before stealing the utility truck.
When he saw the stolen vehicle approaching, Philadelphia crossing guard Jamele Ransom said “I’m bobbing and weaving. I’m just thankful” he was able to make it out of there safely.
The interview has gone viral across all social media platforms, racking up millions of views as this man with all the swagger in the world enjoys his soft serve ice cream cone on TV. Respect to him for not putting his cone down for his television debut.
Jamele Ransom is the crossing guard at 55th Street and Kingsessing Avenue in Philadelphia which is the intersection on the same block as S. Weir Mitchell Elementary School where the incident occurred.
On TikTok, the clip has racked up 7.2 MILLION views since Tuesday afternoon. The second most ‘liked’ comment on that video seems to sum up what a lot of people are thinking. User @callie wrote “Which episode of Abbott Elementary is this?” as the show takes place in the City of Brotherly Love and this seems straight out of a TV sitcom.
Right below that comment, @lam.n wrote “babe wake up, a new classic interview clip just dropped!’ and it reminds me that we just don’t get viral videos like we used to. In the 2010s these clips were dropping once a month. It has been too long!
