We all assume that when we’re buying a padlock for anywhere from $5 to $75 that the money we spent is buying us a decent amount of security. Well, the ‘Lock Picking Lawyer’ is here to take steamy Hot Carl all over that false sense of security by showing just how easy it is to crack common padlocks in an instant.

Here, he uses 24 different tools to pick this common Battalion 1XRV6 Padlock which sells for upwards of $70 on Amazon and bills itself as a ‘Full Shrouded High-Security Padlock’ that is ‘5-pin high security’ and ‘heavy duty’.

If someone were to write up a description fo a product like that I’d have to assume it’s legit without knowing anything about locks. Thankfully, there’s this Lock Picking Lawyer guy on YouTube that pulls back the curtains and shows how quickly these locks can be cracked.

Like I said above, he uses 24 different tools to crack this padlock 24 times but he does it all in under 5 minutes. I really don’t know jack shit about picking locks aside from the absolute surface level basics but videos like this make me want to spend a few bucks and pick up a lock-picking kit on Amazon just to have fun with it and learn a new skill.

For what it’s worth, the Lock Picking Lawyer himself recommends this particular padlock if you are looking for an inexpensive option on Amazon, the ‘ABUS 20/70 Diskus Stainless Steel Padlock Keyed Different‘ which will set you back about the price of a pitcher of beer.

The ABUS 20/70 Diskus Padlock has a 4.4 out of 5-star rating on Amazon and while it isn’t ‘pick proof’ it’s considered to be the best option in that price range. So check it out if you’re in need of a padlock for the gym, your carryon bag/luggage, or anywhere else in your life.

The Lock Picking Lawyer YouTube channel has some more interesting videos on it if you were into that one above. Here he removes a ‘Scammer’s Boot’ fast, an illegal car boot that was slapped on a car pretty quickly. This is good to know if you ever find a boot on your car:

This is his most popular video on YouTube with nearly 9.5 million views. Here he uses the ‘Double Wrench Method’ that went viral on YouTube at one point but shows what the actual method is.
