The first teaser trailer for A24’s Primetime has been released. As Dateline NBC‘s Chris Hansen would say, “Why don’t you take a set?” and check it out.

Directed by Lance Oppenheim in his feature film debut — the filmmaker has previously made a career in documentaries, having helmed the projects Some Kind of Heaven, Spermworld, and Ren Faire — Primetime stars Robert Pattinson as Chris Hansen, the host of the infamous NBC investigative series To Catch a Predator.

To Catch a Predator, which aired on NBC from 2004 to 2007, saw Hansen and his team lure adult men to a sting house to have sex with a minor, with the minors being adults impersonating underage persons in online chats. The perpetrators were typically arrested as a result.

In addition to Pattinson in the lead role, Primetime also stars Merritt Wever, Skyler Gisondo, and Phoebe Bridgers.

The burgeoning movie star also began production on Matt Reeves’ 2027 film The Batman: Part II earlier this month.

At this time, Primetime does not have an official release date. According to A24, however, the film will be released in the Fall of 2026, perhaps positioning it as an award-season play.
