During the third episode of Hard Knocks: Training Camp with the New York Jets, veteran wide receiver and longtime Aaron Rodgers partner-in-crime Randall Cobb explained how and why the future Hall of Fame quarterback will virtually cut receivers out of a team’s offense.

Speaking in a huddle with the Jets wide receiver group, the 32-year-old Cobb — who also revealed in the episode that Rodgers is the godfather to his youngest son Cade — said that the four-time MVP “hates” throwing picks and that if he can’t trust you, he won’t throw you the ball.

“I was just talking to 12, or 8,” Cobb said, funnily forgetting that Rodgers has a new number now that he’s with the Jets. “And he was just telling me, you know, we had a lot of mistakes in our room today. Just basic stuff, little things. We can’t have that. And it’s all cool right now, but I’m telling you, one day, he’s gonna lose his s—.”

“It’s gonna happen if it continues to go the way it’s going right now. Cause he if don’t trust you, he’s not going to throw you the ball. I can promise you that. If he don’t trust you he… he does not like throwing interceptions. So if he can’t trust that you’re going to run the right route, he’s not gonna throw it. It’s just a matter of time. Continue to work. Stay in your book and stay locked in.”

The 33-year-old Cobb certainly knows what he’s talking about to playing with and pleasing Rodgers, as the veteran pass catcher has spent all but three of his professional seasons playing with him.

Since being drafted by the Packers out of the University of Kentucky in the second round of the 2011 NFL Draft, Cobb has racked up 625 passes for 7,585 yards and 54 touchdowns, with virtually all of that production coming with Rodgers as his QB.

Rodgers and Cobb will both make their official debuts for the Jets when Gang Green takes on the Buffalo Bills on Monday, September 11.
