Morgan Wallen is quite possibly the biggest country music star in the world. The singer/songwriter has seen wild mainstream success over the last five years, resulting in a large following of supportive fans.

Unfortunately, he disappointed those fans this past weekend. Wallen cancelled a show in Oxford, MS at the last possible second. The internet immediately erupted with reaction to the news.

Wallen was set to perform in Vaught Hemingway Stadium on the Ole Miss campus on Sunday but was forced to pull the plug due to what he cited as a lost voice.

While he’s certainly not the first performer to cancel a show, the way in which he did so angered his audience. The announcement wasn’t made until concert goers had already gotten seated with the opening acts on stage.

For anyone that paid hundreds or even thousands of dollars to not only purchase tickets, but also make the trip down to Mississippi, the reaction was justified.

One fan wrote, “Completely disappointed in Morgan Wallen!! Been sitting in this stadium for 3 hrs and he just announced the show is canceled!!! COMPLETE BULLS—!!!”

She wasn’t the only one upset.

The last second cancellation was frustrating for those in attendance, but for those who didn’t make the trek to Ole Miss, their reactions were a bit more comical.

Take a look.

Opposing fanbases took it as an opportunity to troll Ole Miss.

Some hinted that the cancellation was due to a good time the night before.

Whatever the case, there were a lot of angry and disappointed fans. Ticket refunds will help but they’ll now be out hundreds on travel fees due to the cancellation.
