Former Democratic presidential candidate and current U.S. Representative for California’s 15th congressional district Eric Swalwell farted extremely loud during an interview on Monday night.

Rep. Swalwell appeared on MSNBC and talked to Hardball host Chris Matthews about the impeachment hearings concerning President Donald Trump, and he did not hold back anything. Literally.

Rep. Swalwell ripped a booming fart.

Swalwell knew it was coming, but could not stop it. Right in the middle of saying two words, at the worst and quietest moment, the representative from California ripped a massive fart on live TV. The Congressman should have raised his voice to attempt to mask the blaring gas blast. However, the thunderous flatulence was so loud that a Saturn V rocket launch wouldn’t have muzzled the deafening airborne toxic event.

And it was at that moment that the entire internet reverted back to a 4th grader.

Swalwell has gone on the record to say that it was not him who butt-belched. “It was not me,” the Congressman said on Twitter. “And I didn’t hear it when I was speaking.”

Swalwell definitely appears to flinch, pause, and seemingly attempts to hold back a smile at the moment of the fart. This will certainly open up the fartgate conspiracy theories on who really dealt it.
