Ridley Scott pranked the cast of 'Prometheus' the same way he did to the 'Alien' cast
Iconic filmmaker Ridley Scott built the Alien universe, so apparently he figures he’s earned the right to haunt it, too.
Speaking to BroBible’s Post Credit Podcast ahead of the release of his new film Beware Boiúna, which is now playing in theaters, Marshals star Logan Marshal recalled how, while on the set of Prometheus, the director pranked the likes of Idris Elba, Rafe Spall and other cast members the same way on the set of Alien.
Prometheus star Logan Marshall-Green told BroBible about Ridley Scott pranking the cast of the movie during filming
Scott famously pulled the same trick on the Alien cast decades earlier when he did not tell them about what would happen to John Hurt during the iconic chestburster scene.
ERIC ITALIANO, BROBIBLE: Were there any moments on set that you remember blowing your mind? Whether it be advice from Ridley, the scale of the set, or whatever?
LOGAN MARSHALL-GREEN: And then the other moment was when Ridley called me and Noomi [Rapace] over when Idris [Elba] and Rafe [Spall] were walking up to the body, to the helmet. He said, “Come here, come, come.” He pulled us over and he’s like, “I did this on Alien.” I’m like, “I already know what he’s about to say.”
Because I already know about the whole John Hurt thing — how he didn’t tell anyone about what was about to happen in his chest. So he’s like, “Watch this. Watch this.” And he didn’t tell Idris or Rafe or I — I can’t remember if Kate [Dickie] was in there too — and those are all real reactions when the thing jumps out of the mask out of that broken face plate. We were all there just watching him and Idris and I were just pulled over to kind of experience this moment that was being reenacted essentially by him from Alien. It was surreal. F—— surreal.
Marshall-Green’s new film Beware Boiúna, an Amazon rainforest-set horror film, is now playing in theaters. Directed by Silent Night, Deadly Night filmmaker Mike P. Nelson, Beware Boiúna also stars Kiana Madeira, Jessica Rothe, Jackson Bews, Juan Pablo Shuk, and Will Close. You can check out the official trailer for the film below.
