Show of hands? How many of you have watched the 2015 teen rom-com The DUFF starring Mae Whitman, Bella Thorne and Robbie Amell? Okay, those of you with your hands raised, you need to leave. What is wrong with you? The rest of you are about to get educated on the film.
According to IMDb this is the plot, “A high school senior instigates a social pecking order revolution after finding out that she has been labeled the DUFF – Designated Ugly Fat Friend – by her prettier, more popular counterparts.”
Mae Whitman plays this DUFF, Bella Thorne plays the mean girl, and Robbie Amell plays the high school’s star quarterback the DUFF asks for help to get his grades up so he can get a college football scholarship.
Never mind the fact that he throws a football like this…

Yikes. Even Conor McGregor thinks that was a terrible throw.
For some unknown reason, over the weekend, this scene went viral on Twitter after NFL writer Marcus Mosher posted it on his account.
Check out this "star QB" throwing motion. Why do actors struggle to throw a football like a regular humans? pic.twitter.com/eHhUhpVfav

I don’t know what is less believable, that he’s a star quarterback or that the now 31-year-old Amell was still in high school in 2015.
People on Twitter had a lot of fun laughing at Amell and it even made its way to Colin Cowherd who said he might have to lead his show with it on Tuesday.
Brutal. May lead my show tomorrow. https://t.co/qYMZDXimD3

That was the final straw for Amell so he finally commented on the clip, trying to explain why he looked so bad.
“This is my actual nightmare,” he tweeted. “There is a PA standing 2 feet from me who has to catch these balls so they don’t hit the thousands of dollars of camera equipment and lighting set up. I’ve been dreading these tweets since the first time I saw the movie.”

These guys are ruining my f*cking date night. @RobbieAmell is outside pumping up a football that I’m definitely going to be asked to film him throwing.
I hope whichever grown man started this really enjoyed watching his teenage rom-com.

She wasn’t lying. Shortly after her tweet Amell posted a video of himself properly throwing a football.

God love the internet.
