Rose McGowan came out and bashed Oprah Winfrey for her support of disgraced Hollywood producer and convicted rapist Harvey Weinstein. McGowan slammed Oprah as “fake as they come” and “supporting a sick power structure for personal gain.”
McGowan also lambasted Winfrey for her connection to Russell Simmons, who has also been accused of sexual misconduct by 20 women. The music producer has denied the allegations.
The former Charmed star unloaded on Oprah in a tweet that reads, “I am glad more are seeing the ugly truth of @Oprah. I wish she were real, but she isn’t. From being pals with Weinstein to abandoning & destroying Russell Simmon’s victims, she is about supporting a sick power structure for personal gain, she is as fake as they come.”
The actress included a photo of Oprah planting a kiss on Weinstein’s cheek, and she finished the tweet off with the hashtag “lizard.”

Weinstein is currently serving a 23-year prison sentence for the rape and sexual assault of two women in New York. He was charged with 11 counts of sexual assault over claims by five women in California. Weinstein pled not guilty to the charges.
Winfrey and McGowan also clash over the Time’s Up movement. Oprah, a supporter, said, “I want it to be known that I unequivocally believe and support the women. Their stories deserve to be told and heard.”
Rose McGowan railed against the movement, claiming it has ulterior motivations.
“Remember when Hollywood actresses & paid off activists wore stupid black dresses at the Oscars? That was sponsored by Times Up who were meant to help abuse victims I told the world they are a lie 3+ years ago,” McGowan’s said last month. “I was mocked & harassed by so many who want to believe the illusion. Wake up. Hard truths are inconvenient & uncomfortable. So what, suck it up.”
McGowan lampooned Time’s Up CEO and President Tina Tchen after it was reported she consulted former New York governor Andrew Cuomo amid his sexual harassment investigation. Tchen resigned from Time’s Up last week.
