Salma Hayek celebrated National Bikini Day earlier this week with a mind-blowing photo on Instagram.

Hayek herself, in fact, had to clarify that the photo was, in fact, not a throwback but a current picture of her 56-year-old self. You can check out the picture over on Instagram.

“Happy #NationalBikiniDay! Can you believe the bikini has only been around for 77 years?! Let’s hope they don’t ban them too #notathrowback,” Hayek captioned her photo.

The Academy Award-nominated actress, who has over 25 million followers on Instagram, is certainly no stranger to posting viral content as some of her recent photos have racked up well over two million likes.

Hayek has certainly been plenty busy in recent years, as she had roles in Marvel Studios’ Eternals, Ridley Scott’s House of Gucci, a voice role in the massively successful Puss in Boots: The Last Wish, starred alongside Ryan Reynolds and Samuel L. Jackson in The Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard, and in the lead role opposite Channing Tatum in Magic Mike’s Last Dance.

Most recently, Hayek had a role in “Joan is Awful”, an episode in the sixth season of Netflix’s dystopian anthology series Black Mirror.

At this time, the only upcoming project that Hayek is currently attached to is Without Blood, which was directed by Angelina Jolie and is currently in post-production.

Having been an actress since the 1990s, Hayek is perhaps best known for her roles in From Dusk till Dawn, Dogma, Wild Wild West, Traffic, Once Upon a Time in Mexico, and the Grown Ups franchise.

For her performance as Frida Kahlo in the 2002 biographical drama Frida, Hayek was nominated at the Academy Awards for Best Actress, which made her the first Mexican actress in history to receive the recognition.
