Scott Eastwood recalled his infamous fight with Shia LaBeouf on the set of 'Fury'
Actor Scott Eastwood has recalled his infamous fight with Shia LaBeouf on the set of the 2014 war movie Fury that had to be broken up by Brad Pitt. Eastwood called LaBeouf — who has been in the news again this year for a litany of incidents — “tormented.”
During a recent appearance on Dax Shepard’s Armchair Expert podcast, Scott Eastwood — who most recently starred in the war action film Lucky Strike, which hit theaters back in late June — recalled his now legendary fight with Shia LaBeouf on the set of their World War II tank movie Fury.
Fury had a famously intense production, as director David Ayer required the cast to undergo four months of preparation for filming, in addition to pushing the cast to physically spar with each other, leading to injuries such as black eyes and bloody noses.

On top of all that, there was Shia LaBeouf, who was so method as his character of tank gunner Boyd “Bible” Swan that he used pliers from the set’s grip department to pull out one of his own lower teeth.
Ayer wanted the cast to be at each other’s throats — the way a group of men would likely be after not only experiencing the horrors of war together but doing so inside of the claustrophobic interior of a tank — and succeeded, with Eastwood and LaBeouf eventually coming to blows.
As the story goes, which Eastwood confirmed, LaBeouf took exception with Eastwood spitting tobacco onto the tank, which he’d come to see as his home.
“Look, Shia is, uh, clearly tormented and maybe got, you know, some stuff going on, and he… Yeah, and it was tough. There was sort of an incident that happened that’s been… I’ve talked about it. Brad Pitt sort of broke up a little tense moment,” Eastwood began.
“He’s a very method. From what I recall, he pulled out one of his teeth before we even started shooting. He pulled out his tooth, but then he cut himself. And I remember thinking, ‘Okay, this guy’s crazy. I’m just going to keep clear from this guy ’cause I don’t really… I don’t play this game,'” he continued.
“You go and do that, but there’s plenty of ways to do a performance in a movie and be professional also, right? But one day, he was having an episode and, you know, thought that I shouldn’t be spitting tobacco on the tank, which was in the script. I don’t even think it was real dip. Then finally I just said enough’s enough. I said, ‘Hey, f— you. Stop pulling your s—. I’m going to whoop your a–.’ And then, you know, he got, you know… froggy, and then everyone broke it up.”

Ayer, the writer and director of Fury, recently reunited with Brad Pitt for his upcoming film Heart of the Beast, which will hit theaters on September 25.
Heart of the Beast sees the Oscar-winning Pitt star as Special Forces officer James Belmont, who is stranded in the Alaskan wilderness alongside his retired combat dog Odin.
