Selena Gomez is catching heat from the pop culture community after the actress and pop star posted a behind-the-scenes video from season three of her hit Hulu series Only Murders in the Building.

While this usually wouldn’t be an issue, Gomez had to delete her post because it violated the terms of the current actors’ strike, which bars performers from promoting their work until an agreement with the AMTPT is struck.

As a result of her mistake, some online are calling the 31-year-old “Single Soon” singer a “scab”, which is a term given to people who leave or decline to join a labor union with their colleagues.

It’s been a busy couple of weeks for Gomez, as she also recently released the music video for “Single Soon”, the first single off of her upcoming, still-untitled studio album. Gomez’s last album, Rare,  was released in 2020. Prior to that, Gomez released the albums Revival in 2015 and Stars Dance in 2013.

As for her acting career, after starring in the third season of Only Murders in the Building alongside Steve Martin, Martin Short, Meryl Streep, and Paul Rudd, Gomez will next be seen starring alongside MCU, Star Trek, and Avatar stalwart Zoe Saldana in Jacques Audiard’s comedy musical Emilia Perez, which will be released in movie theaters next year.

In addition to her acting and music career, Gomez is also one of the most influential people on social media in the world, as her astounding 428 million followers on the platform put her behind only Instagram’s official brand account, Cristiano Ronaldo, and Lionel Messi. As a result of her nearly half a billion followers, Gomez is the most-followed woman on the planet on IG.

Prior to becoming one of the biggest stars in the world, Gomez got her start as a child actress on Barney and Friends before eventually starring in the Disney Channel series Wizards of Waverly Place.
