Shannon Elizabeth has "nothing bad to say" about 'American Pie'

Shannon Elizabeth, who has recently made millions of dollars selling content on OF, recently reflected on her role in American Pie, particularly her iconic birthday suit scene. Elizabeth, however, only had good things to say about the film.

In a new interview with Variety about 25 years of American Pie (that’s how the article frames it even though it was released in 1997, 27 years ago) and her recent OnlyFans endeavors, Shannon Elizabeth reflected on the film that launched her career, crediting it with “everything” while acknowledging the more complicated lens through which it’s now viewed.

American Pie actress Shannon Elizabeth says she has “nothing bad to say” about her experience making the iconic teen comedy

The famed scene, in which her character Nadia is secretly filmed undressing and the footage is streamed without her knowledge or consent — has been widely reassessed in the recent years, particularly since the #MeToo movement.

Elizabeth, however, has no regrets, as she literally said she has “nothing bad to say” about the film.

“With the whole #MeToo movement, everyone is scared to say anything now or do anything, and comedy is always going to offend somebody, so it’s just a different day and age,” Elizabeth told Variety.

“But I think it will all come back around at some point. People are yearning for connection. I love American Pie. It meant a lot for my life and my career. I don’t go back and analyze it content-wise, and it made everything for me. I don’t have anything bad to say about it.”

According to Elizabeth, she made “millions” of dollars in her first few months on OnlyFans and that it’s given her “freedom.”

“I was going through a divorce here in South Africa and was chatting to my manager Joe about what’s next and how to restart things in my life. I had really neglected a lot of things, and he brought it up as an option. I wasn’t sure and didn’t know much about it, and we looked into it, and I thought, ‘Yeah, why not?’” the actress explained.

“For the last ten years I’ve been living off of my savings for the most part because I haven’t been as focused on work. To be able to get myself back to the point where I’m not struggling and am able to choose projects because I like them and not because I need the money — it’s definitely giving me more freedom to do that.”

Elizabeth, 52 years old, most recently appeared in the 2024 film Plan B.
