Just days after news broke that his media company Shay Shay Media Network was going to fetch a deal worth more than $100M, Shannon Sharpe has been accused of sex crimes by a Jane Doe being represented by Tony Buzbee. Buzbee represented many of Deshaun Watson’s accusers and has been involved in many high-profile sexual assault cases in recent years.
According to reports, the 56-year-old Hall of Fame former Denver Broncos and Baltimore Ravens tight end been accused of and sued for allegedly r—– a woman, identified as Jane Doe, on multiple occasions. Doe is asking for over $50 million in damages, reports TMZ. The lawsuit claims the instances of r— happned in October 2024 and January 2025.
The report states that Jane Doe met Sharpe at the gym in 2023 when she was 20-years-old , where he intensely pursued her until they eventually began a consensual relationship. The lawsuit claims that in their first interaction, Sharpe offered to purchase her chest implants if she entered and won a “weigh loss competition” with him.
“He demanded complete control over her time and body,” attorney Tony Buzbee wrote in Doe’s suit, “expecting her to be at his house on his schedule, at his command, whenever he called.”
“Doe claimed there was one argument in particular that terrified her — when he yelled at her while a firearm was visible in the room. Plaintiff tried sharing her location with friends from her iPhone — just in case. But Sharpe saw her doing this. The moment he realized what she was doing, he grabbed her by the neck and told her, ‘If you ever do that again, I will f—— kill you.'” [via TMZ]
Last week, it was reported that Sharpe’s media company Shay Shay Media network, which includes the podcasts Club Shay Shay, Nightcap with Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson, Club 520 Podcast, The Bubba Dub Show, and Humble Baddies, would fetch a deal in the neighborhood of $100 million as his contract with Colin Cowherd’s media network comes to an end. Front Office Sports that Sharpe, who began his Club Shay Shay podcast in 2023 after parting ways with Fox Sports 1, has already received multiple offers.
Despite the allegations, Sharpe was present for his usual Monday appearance on ESPN’s morning debate show First Take on Monday, April 21.
