Arvind Mahankali had to spell “knaidel” to win the 2013 Scripps Spelling Bee. Big moment, right? You wouldn’t be able to tell by how Aravind completely no-sold the big celebration going on around him.
How about a fist pump? Raise your arms? Snow angels in the confetti? I’m all for the “act like you’ve been there” but when it’s your first spelling bee win on national TV you can probably act like you haven’t been there just this once.
