A woman squatted low on her last rep at the gym and felt pressure around her private area. She couldn’t believe what she found when she went to the bathroom to see what happened.
In a video with over 5 million views, TikToker Stacey Dee (@missstaceydee) candidly remarks, “My coochie fell out,” at the beginning of the clip. She explains that she was lifting heavy when she felt the strange sensation.
“I go to the bathroom and look down. And there’s stuff like dangling,” Dee continues. “I’m like, ‘Did I get a wee wee?'”
Dee says she started to panic and quickly headed home before sending a picture to her mom.
“My mom’s like, ‘That’s your damn coochie,'” she says. “I can’t believe it. My coochie done fell out.”
She called urgent care to see how long the wait was, and the worker offered to ask the attending doctor if she should come in.
What Did The Doctor Say?
In a follow-up video, Dee says that the doctor told her it wasn’t urgent for her to come into the clinic. Instead, they recommended that she gently pushed the prolapsed organ back into the vagina.
“I gotta do surgery on myself?” she exclaims. “So I put on gloves, and I went ‘Boop!’ and pushed it right back up on in there.”
Dee says she went to her gynecologist the next day for a more thorough assessment of the situation. The doctor told her it was only a “mild prolapse” and may not require surgery. However, she decides to get a second opinion from a urogynecologist.
In a third video, Dee says the second doctor also confirmed that she has a “stage one” prolapse [and] that there’s “nothing [they] can do.”
“It’s really pissing me off. Every organ has a place. Mine ain’t placed in the right place,” she says, growing frustrated that her healthcare team seems to be dismissing her concern. “But it is what it is.”
What Is Pelvic Organ Prolapse?
Pelvic organ prolapse is a surprisingly common condition that primarily impacts women who have had children or those who are aging. During prolapse, pelvic organs like the bladder, uterus, or rectum may become lax and protrude through the opening of the vagina.
Activities like intense exercise can cause a prolapse to become more obvious, as muscles bear down on an already weakened pelvic floor.
While scary if you don’t know what to expect, the condition can often be treated by gently pushing the organ back into its place through the vagina. Strengthening the pelvic floor muscles can also help keep organs in their place, according to the Mayo Clinic.
Commenters React To Her Story
In the comments of the now-viral three-part series, viewers joke that their “laziness” saved them from experiencing pelvic organ prolapse.
“That wouldn’t happen at Cinnabon,” one said.
Another remarked, “I always knew the gym wasn’t for me.”
“It’s crazy that I was getting dressed to go to the gym. Let me lay back down chile,” a third wrote.
Others shared their own experience with pelvic organ prolapse.
“I had a uterine prolapse and had to have a hysterectomy followed by a bladder prolapse 2 years later and had to have a bladder sling. The way they just acted like no big deal I would have gone crazy,” one woman commented.
Another said, “Mind you the same thing was happening to my mom for over a year (on and off) and she’s only getting surgery (next month) for a full hysterectomy and a bladder reconstruction.”
