Squid Game has hit the news cycle once again after it was reported the show’s creator isn’t getting paid nearly as much as we previously believed.

Even so, Netflix plans to air season two of the global phenomenon with the release date yet to be determined.

As of now, the lead actor of the Squid Game, Lee Jung-jae, is set to reprise his role as Seong Gi-hun in the new season. However, it sounds like he has some new contract demands that are turning heads.

According to Pop Base and Dispatch, Jung-jae is requesting Netflix pays him $1 million per episode for the second season.

When you’re the star of a show that became popular world wide, why not ask for as much money as possible?

Due to how well season one did, it only makes sense for Jung-jae to up his demands for Squid Game‘s next season.

It is currently unknown if Netflix has agreed to his contract demands. But the streaming giant should seriously considering matching his request.

Even so, fans of the show are split on whether or not the star actor deserves that kind of pay.

On one hand, Squid Game is one of the most talked about shows on the planet. It increased Netflix’s value by nearly $1 billion for crying out loud!

Meanwhile, it’s not like he’s putting on a grueling performance or anything. He is playing child games, after all.

It should be an easy choice for Netflix.

Pretty odd sense of humor.

That’s a rather bold statement.

Experts are everywhere.

The alleged controversy around Lee Jung-jae certainly has people not wanting him to receive $1 million per episode.

With that said, we’ll have to see what Netflix plans to do for season two of Squid Game.

As previously mentioned, there is currently no release date for the second season, but it is in development. There should be plenty of news coming to light in the coming months.
