A man went to STK Steakhouse in Dallas, Texas, with his mother and another guest. When the server tried to make a fiery alcoholic drink, an accidental spill left him with burns on his lap.
In a video with over 1.3 million views, TikToker ICCOLD (@falenmoney) sits across from her son at the steakhouse. A plate of bubbles sits in front of him as a server pours alcohol that had been lit on fire into the concoction.
Her son suddenly jumps back and looks uncomfortable as he holds his phone up, filming the dinner table.
She reveals why in the caption, writing, “My son got set on fire at STK steakhouse #Dallas looks like he poured it right in his lap cause how u miss the entire plate?? He was not happy and had 3rd degree burn.”
Fiery Menu Items Have Caused Burns Before
The TikToker’s son isn’t the only restaurant-goer to allegedly suffer injuries due to table-top food performances gone wrong.
One Dallas couple sued a bar in 2024 when a fiery cocktail exploded, leaving them with 3rd-degree burns and major scarring on their upper bodies, per NBC5. The cocktail included a lime that was lit on fire to garnish the drink.
Alcohol is highly flammable and can be difficult to put out once lit. If alcohol makes contact with the skin, the flames can spread quickly.
Still, many restaurants include fiery cocktails with intentionally-lit alcohol on their menus to create a dramatic performance for diners.
What Do Viewers Think He Should Do?
In the comments, viewers question whether the TikToker and her son plan to pursue further action due to his injury claims.
“Court time win money,” one suggested.
“You can absolutely sue and win. remember the coffee girl? she spilled the hot coffee in her lap. she also won. get your money immediately,” another said.
A third offered, “Please file a claim with their general liability insurance carrier. A third degree burn…. Absolutely not. He should be compensated for his medical bills, and pain and suffering.”
However, others disagreed with taking legal action.
“Everything don’t need to be sue sue sue yall just looking for a quick come up, im sure he wasn’t hurt,” a commenter wrote. The TikToker responded, “Pour hot liquid on ur lap and tell me how u feel?”
In a comment, she shared an update on her son’s condition.
She wrote, “He is ok now but he said he is not ordering that again.” She also noted, “Enjoying a great night with friends and family then this. Like I said we still had a great time and food was great!”
