An amazing Stranger Things floating Max Halloween display in Plainfield, Illinois was recently shut down because of a neighbor, but fans rallied, city hall caved, and now it’s back and even better than it was before.

The creation of Aubrey and Dave Appel, the Stranger Things floating Max Halloween display has blown up on TikTok getting millions of views with one clip going over 15 million.

After watching the video, it’s easy to understand why.

“When people started showing up at our house early … they were like, ‘We saw you on TikTok. How is she up there?'” Dave told NBC News after the video went viral.

The full floating Max display, which took the couple over 1,500 hours to create, has been up since back in September. Since then they have added many other Stranger Things props including another Max on the ground sitting at her deceased stepbrother Billy’s grave and numerous objects, including the creepy vines, from the Upside Down.

“I want somebody’s parents to show their kid and be like ‘look Max is floating in this person’s front yard’ and that kid be like ‘holy cow,'” Dave told ABC News.

“There’s magic in front of their face. Adults have no explanation and that’s not something you get much anymore”.

Naturally, with over 15 million views, the Appels were inundated with requests to reveal how they got Max to float in midair. So, a couple of weeks after the first reveal, they shared another on TikTok showing how they did it.

@horrorprops The Reveal. Why? Because it's still better in person. Sadly, village officials made the Appels take down the floating Max after a neighbor complained about all the foot traffic the display caused

Fortunately, after Dave spoke to some folks at city hall, he was able to put the full display back up on certain days during specific hours.

“The conversation looked like I had fans in city hall,” Appel told ABC 7 News. “Very much, ‘We love what you’re doing. Thank you so much for helping the community and doing something good for the community.'”

All the attention their Stranger Things display received led to many other people wanting to help. That led to them being able to add even more amazing effect to the display thanks to numerous donations including some awesome lights. This, in turn, led to even more people flocking to see it in person. Suck it, fun police.
