We’ve all seen a movie or a TV show where someone accidentally drives their car into a swimming pool. But have you ever seen it done in real life?
Because that is exactly what happened to a driver in Gaithersburg, Maryland the other day.
A 60-year-old Maryland woman was reportedly practicing her parking on Saturday when police say she accidentally drove her car into the North Creek Community Center pool.
Seriously.
Montgomery County Fire and Rescue spokesman Pete Piringer said on Twitter that the car ending up submerged in the pool appeared to have been as a reult of “driver error.”

Luckily, no one was hurt, although two people were reportedly in the car when it took the plunge and were able to escape before fire crews arrived on the scene.
Oh yeah, thankfully, the pool was not open at the time.
I am guessing that the woman will still need a little more parking practice before hitting the streets. Just a hunch.
Of course, people on Twitter had jokes, because that’s what they do.
Note: Pool was not in a marked crosswalk and not brightly colored.
