Tori Evans was one of the ~1,000 people in attendance at the wedding of Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce on the third of July. She wore a dress that many people considered to be too bridal and too close to white.
Others saw no issue.
To be completely transparent, I am not an expert on wedding dress protocol. All I know is that guests are not supposed to wear white. By that rule alone, Evans is in the clear. However, there seem to be some other unspoken rules for which I am not aware.
Who is Tori Evans?
Evans is one of the most sought-after dancers in Los Angeles. She trained 15 years in tap, jazz and ballet which helped her land a scholarship at the University of Arizona, the No. 2-ranked dance university in the country. It took her only three years to graduate with honors before she immediately end out on a world tour for Barbie LIVE!, the musical. And then it was off to L.A.
When Tori Evans is not on the road touring with some of the biggest artists in the world, she is featured on television shows like All American -Homecoming, The Masked Singer, The Price is Right, The Voice and multiple award shows. Her credits include Jennifer Hudson, Pitbull, Backstreet Boys, Bad Bunny, The Weeknd, Cardi B, and Beyonce, among others.
The 33-year-old got her biggest break on The Eras Tour. Taylor Swift brought her on as a featured background dancer.
Evans now boasts more than 100,000 followers on Instagram and nearly 40,000 followers on TikTok.
It is not always easy to build an individual brand as a dancer. Getting on board with Swift is an easy way to do exactly that. More than 10 million people attended The Eras Tour. They fell in love with Evans and her fellow dancers, like Kam Sanders.
Was her dress to “bridal” for Taylor Swift’s wedding?
Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce were married at Madison Square Garden on Friday, July 3. The dress code was black tie.
Tori Evans and her significant other were invited to the wedding. They looked great.
However, Evans wore a pink champagne dress that sparked a lot of chatter on social media.
The lighting in the above video undoubtedly played a role in the color of the dress. And you can see that it is not a true white color. But it is very close. Perhaps too close.
Many critics think, regardless of the color, that Evan’s dress was too bridal to wear as a guest. Of course, that was not her intention, but she could’ve avoided this issue all together if she had just picked a different dress to wear to the wedding of the century.
