Going to Texas Roadhouse is partly for the food and partly for the country-themed immersion. The restaurant chain’s branding has a rich atmosphere. Warm lighting, light wood paneling, beer posters, and an eclectic array of animal heads mounted on the wall are all part of its design, just as much as the honey cinnamon butter and rolls.
But one woman noticed a unique furnishing that made her stop to record a video for TikTok. Georgia content creator Chrissy (@chrissypwolf) saw an enlarged photo of a man she didn’t recognize on one of the restaurant’s walls.
“Can anybody tell me who this is and why it’s up here at Texas Roadhouse?” Chrissy asks in a video with more than 97,000 views. As it turns out, viewers were able to supply a little bit of context as to who the man was, even if they didn’t know exactly why his picture was framed on the wall.
Who’s In The Picture?
“That is Travis Tritt and he is a country music artist,” one viewer said.
Another person said, “that’s a country singer Travis Tritt…if you like country music give music a listen…he is a pretty good country singer.”
Both commenters are correct. The photo is of Travis Tritt, a famous country singer. Tritt released 14 studio albums over the course of his country career. In total, he has 19 releases in his discography. His most popular album, “It’s All About to Change,” went triple-platinum, according to the RIAA.
Viewers even gave Chrissy song recommendations from Tritt’s repertoire.
“I’d say if you want a good listen, check out his song ‘Anymore’. Sounds like a breakup song but it’s far from it,” one viewer said.
Others, however, didn’t recognize the singer like Chrissy.
“I thought it was a bad painting of Billy Ray Cyrus,” one viewer said.
Why Tritt, Really?
Chrissy may have only questioned one picture in Texas Roadhouse, but it led others to wonder, how does Texas Roadhouse even get its furnishings? And why have a photo of Tritt on the wall?
Texas Roadhouse gets “unique, localized décor” for each of its locations, according to Mashed.
David Soileau, for instance, is famous for painting many of the chain’s unique murals. The artist has created “over 900 murals” for the restaurant chain, according to Hendersonville Best.
As for the large picture of Travis Tritt? The answer is unclear. It may be a part of the localized décor if Chrissy was dining at a Georgia location. Tritt is from Marietta, Georgia, and is famous throughout the state.
“You must be in Douglasville. He’s a local celebrity from the 1990s,” one viewer explained. “There was another restaurant across the street that had an autographed photo on the wall before they built .chipotle.”
