Woman Hacks The System After Figuring Out She Could Study At Texas Roadhouse: ‘Unlimited Rolls, Drink Refills, Appetizer And Free Wi-Fi For $15’

A student frustrated #ServerTok with her apparent recommendation to use Texas Roadhouse as a pseudo-library.

Lilianna Elle (@theliliannaelle) is a lifestyle content creator with over 19,000 followers. In her video, the TikToker is working on a tablet in Texas Roadhouse booth and enjoying the chain’s bread rolls.

In the text overlay, she implied she only bought an appetizer—the average cost of which is $10—and a drink in order to stay and study at the restaurant. The creator said she was using her free will to get “unlimited rolls and drink refills, [an] appetizer and free wifi for $15.”

Does Texas Roadhouse Really Have Free Wi-Fi And Unlimited Bread Rolls?

Texas Roadhouse is probably not the first place people think of when they need to study.

But technically, most customers could realistically study inside a Texas Roadhouse. Locations offer complimentary Wi-Fi.

While there’s not a consistent policy regarding unlimited rolls, there’s a good chance that, as long as they order something off the menu, a customer can fill up on bread.

Wait, Does That Mean I Should Study There?

The difficult part of studying at Texas Roadhouse, though, is that it’s not primed for students. Locations don’t offer amenities like charging ports. Texas Roadhouses also have a bit of a reputation for being noisy and chaotic. Every hour, workers line dance in the middle of the restaurant.

Servers probably also wouldn’t appreciate a customer hogging a table to study, either. Servers only get so many tables per shift. Therefore, a high table turnover likely means more tip money for them. That is unless you make it worth their time by tipping big despite not ordering much.

Having one slow table can be so costly for a server. That’s why some have strategies that make customers leave faster.

Commenters criticized Lilianna Elle and said that she was limiting her server’s income by not leaving.

“Please go to a coffee shop, the servers have to turn their tables in a certain amount of time,” one person said.

“You know this takes up a whole table for the waiter right? They have libraries and coffee shops for a reason,” another added.

It’s unclear how long the student sat at the restaurant, but commenters emphasized that she needed to leave a good tip if she wanted to hang around.

One viewer told her that a $25 tip for every hour she spent there would make up for the table turnover deficit. Others recommended that she avoid using restaurants as study spaces altogether.
