According to The Boys producer Stephan Fleet, season four of the show has “the most disgusting thing he’s seen working” while working in television.

Taking to Twitter on Thursday afternoon, Fleet fired off a tweet that surely will excite fans of the notoriously gruesome series: “I think I just saw the most disgusting thing I have seen working in this business thus far.”

This is particularly significant considering season three of the show featured a man being exploded after an Ant-Man ripoff named Termite sneezed while inside his urethra, which was already one of the most disgusting things ever seen on television. That infamous season three moment was just the latest in a long line of gruesome scenes that have been featured in the show.

Created by Eric Kripke, the series premiered on Amazon Prime Video in the Summer of 2019. The Boys follows a group of vigilantes who battle against abusive and corrupt superheroes and features an ensemble cast that includes the likes of Karl Urban, Jack Quaid, Antony Starr, Erin Moriarty, Dominique McElligott, Jessie T. Usher, Chace Crawford, Laz Alonso, Giancarlo Esposito, Jensen Ackles, Tomer Capone, Karen Fukuhara, and Nathan Mitchell.

The series has been one of the most successful in the history of Prime Video: it’s been nominated for Outstanding Drama Series at the Emmy Awards and has already spawned two spinoffs: the animated series Diabolical and the college-focused live-action series Gen V.

According to reports, production on season four of The Boys began back in August and is set to conclude in March, which would put the series on track to return on Prime Video in the Fall or Winter of this year. Given the massive success of the series, it’s likely that it gets renewed for season five.
