The Rock’s List Of The GOAT Action Stars Is A Murderer’s Row Of Legends

Ever since our new way of life was ushered in a few weeks ago, we’ve seen a spike in celebrities hopping on Instagram Live. You see, while it can be easy to forget, they are — at the end of the day — just like us. They’re cooped up in their (likely far nicer) cribs just like we are. They’re bored. They’re stir-crazy. They miss other people.

That said, that doesn’t mean I’ve been tuning into many of these Instagram Lives. As I just noted, they’re just like us, so I could really care less about what they’ve got to say these days.

Not The Rock, though. The man is a born entertainer. As a fan of Attitude Era WWF, he was — by far — my favorite wrestler growing up. I remember doing a 2nd Grade book report on his autobiography The Rock Says. To this day, I remain sour about Stone Cold teaming up with Vince McMahon to screw him out of the title at Wrestlemania 17 back in ’01. My point is that I’ve been rooting for the guy for two decades now, both as the Most Electrifying Man in Sports Entertainment and as one of the highest-paid actors in Hollywood.

As an actor, Dwayne Johnson has become arguably the last of a dying breed: he is a true action movie star. Similar to the likes of greats before him like Arnold Schwarzenegger or Sylvester Stallone, Johnson is the franchise. You attach his name to anything and it’s likely to flirt with at least half-a-billion dollars. I always point to the 2015 action flick San Andreas, which was essentially The Rock vs. Mother Nature: it made $474 million at the global box office! Rampage? $428 million. His two Jumanji films? Close to $1.75 billion worldwide combined.

So, as perhaps the last true action star, there’s perhaps no one on Earth with a more valuable opinion of those who came before him to pave the way. After all, it takes a 🐐 to know a 🐐. With that in mind, we decided to ask him who his favorites were when he was growing up on today’s Cheat Meal IG Live as he was in the midst of housing what can only be described as the best looking six-ish pounds of french toast that we’ve ever seen.

With Disney’s Jungle Cruise and Warner Bros’ Black Adam (which I have extremely high hopes for) set to be released in the coming years, Johnson’s streak of massive blockbusters is sure to continue. And after 25 years of entertaining me personally, and likely all of you out there, that should come as no surprise.
