The first teaser trailer for Chris Pratt’s upcoming sci-fi action thriller, The Tomorrow War, has arrived.

First announced back in 2019, The Tomorrow War was originally a Paramount Pictures film that was set to be released on December 25, 2020. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the rights were sold to Amazon Studios for a reported $200 million, who then scheduled the film for an exclusive streaming release on July 2, 2021. The Tomorrow War isn’t the only massive action movie that Amazon acquired from Paramount, as the Michael B. Jordan-starring Without Remorse, which will release this Friday, was also purchased from the studio.

Here’s the official synopsis for The Tomorrow War, via Amazon Prime Video:

In The Tomorrow War, the world is stunned when a group of time travelers arrive from the year 2051 to deliver an urgent message: Thirty years in the future mankind is losing a global war against a deadly alien species. The only hope for survival is for soldiers and civilians from the present to be transported to the future and join the fight. Among those recruited is high school teacher and family man Dan Forester (Chris Pratt). Determined to save the world for his young daughter, Dan teams up with a brilliant scientist (Yvonne Strahovski) and his estranged father (J.K. Simmons) in a desperate quest to rewrite the fate of the planet.

The Tomorrow War is just one of many massive projects Pratt has in the coming years, as 2022 will see the release of both Jurassic World: Dominion and Thor: Love and Thunder. Then, in 2023, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3. will (likely) hit theaters.

Starring Chris Pratt, Yvonne Strahovski, J.K. Simmons, Betty Gilpin, Sam Richardson, Edwin Hodge, Jasmine Mathews, Ryan Kiera Armstrong, and Keith Powers,
The Tomorrow War will hit Amazon Prime Video on Friday, July 2.
