The Worst Kind Of Fans Have Erected A Billboard Calling On Marvel To Revive Tony Stark

When news broke that Warner Bros. was greenlighting Zack Snyder’s Justice League, it represented a watershed moment in Hollywood, as it proved the voice of the fans is louder and more powerful than ever. For years — literal years — fans of The Snyderverse scratched and clawed, occasionally far too aggressively, to bring the project to life. For a while, it seemed all but hopeless. And then suddenly, they won. Zack Snyder’s Justice League released in late March and it was legitimately good!

Like most things in life, though, there’s a flip-side to that hard-earned fan victory. A dark side of the coin that doubles as the opening of Pandora’s Box. Now that fans have been heard, but more importantly, listened to — what’s to stop it from happening again?

This recently erected billboard in Los Angeles is the epitome of that unwanted flip-side, as fans are now calling on Marvel Studios to… resurrect Tony Stark, which would effectively cancel the decade of character growth that culminated in Avengers: Endgame.

As I mentioned in my tweet about the billboard, not only is the campaign inherently absurd, but the hashtag they’ve chosen is simply stroke-inducing. #BringBackTonyStarkToLife? You’d think that if you’re going to spend a couple thousand (Hundred? How much does a billboard ad cost? I have zero fucking clue), you’d — at the very least — iron out a somewhat fluid hashtag (iron pun totally intended).

Now, while these misguided fans might not get their wish when it comes to Tony Stark returning to life, there is a chance they see him in the Marvel Cinematic Universe this year, as there have long been rumors that the character will appear in Black Widow, which is finally hitting theaters,  and Disney+ Premier Access, on July 9.
