A group of foreign tourists who were taking a catamaran tour in Tierra del Fuego captured some of the clearest photos of a UFO ever taken. The mysterious object appeared as they were on a trip through the Beagle Canal around Ushuaia in Argentina.
According to a local news report, the UFO was captured in photos as the tourists were viewing the landscape while on their way to visit a colony of penguins. At the time, no one on board noticed the UFO, but when reviewing the photographs following the trip, one of them noticed a metal saucer-like object appearing to hover over the water.
A local report states that the reflections of light seen on the UFO in the photos suggests that the UFO is not a photographic defect or an optical phenomenon.
“The images show the mysterious object in different positions: horizontal and slightly tilted to the right,” the report reads. “Its tanned color and similar shape to a bell shed sparked speculation about its origin. Although it is difficult to determine its exact dimensions due to the lack of visual references in the photos.”
Reportedly, the UFO photos “caused astonishment among tourists and sparked heated discussions on social media.” Another local news report states, “Experts in aerial technology are currently analyzing the photographs for any signs of tampering or artifacts that may indicate the object is a drone or a reflection. They use software to assess the metadata in the images to determine the conditions during capture.”
This is far from the first time an unexplained phenomenon like a UFO has appeared in the Tierra del Fuego region on the southern tip of South America. Local folklore is filled with such stories.
According to Chile.Travel, “…the history of UFO sightings in Chile is very long and goes back to time immemorial. It is believed that the pre-Columbian civilizations had contact or believed in other civilizations outside of this land
In fact, in 1997, due to the number of UFO sightings reported by crews of commercial, private, sports and institutional aircraft, as well as the general public, a Committee for the Study of Anomalous Aerial Phenomena was created as an official body of the General Directorate of Civil Aeronautics to study anomalous aerial phenomena that appear in the airspace over Chile.
Chile has even had its own version of Roswell. According to several witnesses, a UFO crashed on the Las Mollacas hill in 1988 and drew the attention of the Chilean army and special envoys from NASA. They would reportedly refuse to release any information related to the incident.
