Travis Kelce, by all accounts, seems like a pretty nice dude. However, his old posts on social media directly contradict what Taylor Swift reportedly said during her wedding vows.

He was, at one point, judgmental.

I am not here to “cancel” one of the biggest celebrities in the world or her NFL husband. I just find what she said to be ironic, given what we know about him during his younger years. People change. But the internet lives forever.

Taylor Swift wishes she met her husband in high school.

The wedding of the century took place at Madison Square Garden on Friday, July 3, 2026. Approximately 1,000 guests were invited to attend the ceremony. Many of them were friends and family of the bride and groom. Some of them were media.

Most of the attendees have kept their mouths shut thus far. We don’t know a lot about how it looked or what happened but a few details have leaked here and there.

CBS actually did a full segment on the wedding after the long weekend. It revealed a small portion of Taylor Swift’s wedding vows. She said something about how she wishes she met Travis Kelce in high school because he is one of those guys who does not look down at others. He sits with the less popular kids even though he is the star athlete.

We also learned through TMZ that Kelce cried during Swift’s vows. That makes sense given that she is a prolific songwriter who is best known for her ability to tell stories through words.

Unfortunately, her words in the present do not necessarily coincide with the words of her husband in the past.

Travis Kelce was not always super nice…

I do not know what Travis Kelce was like in high school but I would imagine he was indeed pretty popular. And maybe he really did sit with the “less popular” kids like Taylor Swift suggested in her vows.

However, his past posts on social media allude to a slightly different reality.

  • “I feel like if u wanna be a cheerleader you have to pass a beauty test…. there’s too many ugly cheerleaders out here smh” — 02/22/2011
  • “As a man, You have something wrong with you if your going for girls that weigh more then you!!” — 08/04/2010
  • “hahaha why cant girls hide they backfat? That sh— nasty!!!” — 06/04/2010
  • “damn the clippers girls gotta be the sh—- girls that dont make the lakers girls team, cuz they all was ugly” — 01/16/2010
  • “Haha when fat people fall, its like slow motion entertainment, cuz they never JUST fall, they always tumble n gradually hit the deck #comedy.” — 03/29/2010
  • “Haha I just caught myself judging every person that walked past me, whether they were ugly, fat, funny looking, sexy, haha I’m trippin” — 05/12/2010

Kelce addressed his old posts on his podcast in 2023. He said he was “just using Twitter as like, a diary” and “just out here, just saying nonsense.”

“I will say that I’ve been trying to get all those tweets deleted. I’ve been trying like, since I’ve gotten into the league. I’m like, gosh, I just want I want all those things to get deleted. And sure enough, it came surface level, and everybody f——- dove into 2011. What a f—— year that was.”

I am not here to judge someone on what they said on the internet as a high school or college student. I am in no position to do so. Travis Kelce today is not the same Travis Kelce from 16 years ago. The same can be said for his wife.

And, trust me, not everything that is said in a wedding vow is supposed to be literal. Especially when Taylor Swift is the one talking.

But with all of that that being said, the comment about Kelce being the popular kid in high school who sat with the less popular kids does not reflect the appearance of what he was saying around that same time. The math doesn’t quite add up…
