Ominous footage of a menacing cougar has gone viral. It shows the large California cougar stalking a family’s pet cat through their sliding glass door.
They are placing a LOT of trust in the sliding glass door here. This massive California cougar is separated from the family and their beloved pet by the thinnest pane of glass. Anyone who has a sliding glass door knows how often they pop off the track. I say again, this is a lot of trust in a sliding glass door.

Based on the video’s caption, this took place in Julian, California. Julian is a very tiny town with a population of around 1,500 people.
This town is located northeast of San Diego in Southern California and sits on the edge of the Cuyamaca Rancho State Park and the Anza-Borrego Desert State Park. The town of Julian, California is best known for the Julian Apple Days Festival and apple pie.
I’m bringing up the town of Julian here for a reason. Anyone planning on moving to Julian, CA should heed the warning in this TikTok caption.

I’ll save you some Googling. Those ‘big a– dogs’ to consider are breeds including the Kangal, Anatolian Shepherd, Akbash, and Great Pyrenees. These are four extra large dog breeds that are often used to keep wolves and coyotes away from sheep. They’ll do just fine keeping the California cougars away as well. Mountain lions won’t want that smoke.
