‘I Might As Well Bring A Pitcher’: Server Takes Your Drink Order. Then She Reveals What It Says About You

If you’ve ever felt like your server was judging your food or drink order, there’s a chance you were correct.

Some orders are just really weird and hard not to pass judgment on. Take this Subway sandwich order, for example. If you were the worker tasked with making a sandwich with only white bread, eggs, and lettuce as the ingredients, could you keep a straight face? Probably not.

A server, Ace (@dear.ace) on TikTok, admitted to passing judgement on guests based on their drink orders.

“I’m a server, and this is what your drink choice says about you,” she starts off her viral video.

Drink Choice Assumptions

First up are the Dr. Pepper and sweet tea drinkers.

The server says these customers are notorious for being aggressive drinkers. “If you’re ordering a Dr. Pepper, I might as well bring a pitcher because you’re gonna down at least four of those before I put your food order in,” she says. “If you’re a sweet tea drinker, same thing.”

If you prefer to mellow out your sweet tea with some unsweetened tea, making you a “half-and-half person,” chances are you are an “older woman,” according to Ace.

You might be looked at as a germaphobe if you ask for hot water.

“You think it’s going to sterilize your utensils,” Ace says.

Next, the content creator notes people who “drink water with extra lemon are usually 30- to 45-year-old women,” whereas people who order “black coffee after 9pm” are “insane.”

Male bourbon and whiskey drinkers, Ace says, are “insufferable for the next hour.”

“Sprite, Shirley Temple, or lemonade—you’re usually a kid,” the server says, adding, “Diet Coke is usually almost exclusively for 20-year-old girls, ranging from three refills as well.”

Finally, Ace wraps up her with drinks she finds repulsive. “Vodka soda—I think they’re disgusting—but it usually means you’re a 40-year-old woman,” she says. “White Russian, you need to be in a mental [institution] immediately. Those are so nasty. It’s literally milk or a creamer with vodka.”

What Do Viewers Think Of Her Opinion?

Ace’s clip garnered over 55,000 views, and many commenters with a great sense of self-awareness agreed with her beverage assessments.

“Me and my friends went to ihop one night and they legit gave us a pitcher of DR pepper,” one viewer shared.

“I’m definitely the 2 to 3 soda person before my food even comes,” another concurred.

“You know what? insane is probably the least insulting fair thing I’ve been called,” a third remarked.

“My grandma drinks White Russians, you ain’t wrong,” a fourth said.

How Servers Arrive To These Conclusions

Servers seem to have an uncanny ability to pick up on subtle hints about their guests, and it’s not because the restaurant industry requires a psychology degree.

Being observant is a skill that is developed on the job. Reading your table, picking up on your guests’ body language and cues will help determine the service needed, according to StateFoodSafety Resources.

Once you become a seasoned server, say, you very well may be able to determine the type of customer based on their drink order.
