With the launch of Disney+ this week, the galaxy far, far away continues to expand, as the Disney+ original series The Mandalorian will be the first live-action television series set in the Star Wars universe.
The Mandalorian — which will take place after the fall of the Empire and before the emergence of the First Order — is set in the year 9ABY (after the Battle of Yavin in A New Hope), placing the story approximately 25 years prior to the events of Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
The series — which will consist of eight episodes in its first season — stars Pedro Pascal (Game of Thrones, Narcos) in the titular role alongside Giancarlo Esposito, Gina Carano, Nick Nolte, Carl Weathers, Bill Burr, and Werner Herzog.

The first episode of The Mandalorian is now live on Disney+. The following seven episodes will then be released once a week.
