Fans of the sports media company Barstool Sports has been asking questions and engaging in rumors about Bussin’ with the Boys co-host Will Compton having an alleged romantic encounter with former co-worker Oona McCaughan. Neither Compton nor McCaughan have confirmed that anything sexual happened between the pair.

Rumors circulating in Barstool Sports circles this week have centered on Will Compton — the former NFL linebacker and Bussin’ with the Boys podcast co-host he previously worked at Barstool Sports — and a Barstool employee named Oona McCaughan.

The drama began unfolding during Barstool’s recent “reality TV” show Barstool Spring Break, which held its second season in Las Vegas after its first season was at the Jersey Shore, after rumors began spreading that McCaughan had sex with a Barstool employee during Super Bowl weekend.

During a confrontation on the show, Payton Fermer, a producer at Barstool Sports based in New York, accused McCaughan of sleeping someone to land her job at the company.

Most recently, a screenshot showing McCaughan liking a comment that replied “yes” to the direct question “Was it Will Compton or not.” The original video that sparked the conversation has since been deleted. None of this is verified reporting or should be taken as legitimate confirmation — it is comment thread evidence and inferred social media behavior, which is about as thin as sourcing gets.

“The rumor is that I had sex with this person, and I didn’t. I DMed this person back, and I said, ‘You still should have a wife and kids,'” McCaughan claimed during the argument with Fermer.

Compton, 36, is married to former Washington Commanders cheerleader Charo Bishop, whom he married in Montana in June 2021. He left Barstool Sports last year alongside Bussin’ co-host Taylor Lewan after signing a deal with FanDuel, ending a tenure that concluded on rocky terms with company founder Dave Portnoy.

Before his career in sports media, Compton played college football at the University of Nebraska from 2008 to 2012 before signing with the then-Washington Redskins as an undrafted free agent in 2013. Compton played for Washington until 2017, and then spent the final few years of his career with the Tenessee Titans (where he and Lewan became friends), New Orleans Saints, and Las Vegas Raiders until he retired in 2021.
