A confrontation during Barstool Spring Break has sparked online speculation after a heated exchange between personalities at Barstool Sports went viral. In a clip from the show, Payton Fermer accuses Oona McCaughan of having a relationship with a coworker that impacted her employment, an allegation McCaughan denied during the exchange.
The confrontation took place during Barstool’s reality series Barstool Spring Break, which filmed its second season in Las Vegas after debuting at the Jersey Shore. The exchange quickly spread online after a clip showed New York-based Barstool producer Payton Fermer accusing her colleague Oona McCaughan of a relationship with a coworker that she suggested had influenced her hiring, an allegation McCaughan denied on camera.

“That’s probably how you got the job in the first place,” Fermer said to McCaughan in a published video. “You told me you were f—— somebody, want me to say it?”
McCaughan denied the allegation in the same exchange with Fermer, stating the rumor was untrue. Compton has not publicly addressed the rumors since the speculation began earlier this month.
“The rumor is that I had sex with this person, and I didn’t. I DMed this person back, and I said, ‘You still should have a wife and kids,'” McCaughan replied during the recorded confrontation.

Barstool Sports fans are trying to figure out who Oona McCaughan’s co-worker was referring to in the viral Barstool Spring Break confrontation
Social media platforms, including Reddit and X, have been flooded with unverified theories regarding the involvement of former Barstool personality Will Compton. There is no confirmed information linking him to the claims made in the show. Neither Compton nor McCaughan have confirmed that anything happened between the pair, thus, everything addressed in this article should be taken as speculation based on comments from Barstool Sports personalities and their fans, and not as fact.
Further fueling the rumors was a ‘liked’ comment on McCaughan’s TikTok that specifically asked, ‘Was it Will Compton or not?’ — a move that sleuths on Reddit and X have highlighted as a potential link. However, McCaughan has not officially confirmed the identity of any individual involved, and such social media interactions remain open to interpretation and have become a central point of debate among those following the fallout. Some users have pointed to social media activity as possible context, though it remains unverified and open to interpretation. The video on which the liking of this comment took place has since been deleted.
Compton, 36, left Barstool Sports last year alongside Bussin’ co-host Taylor Lewan after signing a deal with FanDuel, ending a tenure that concluded on rocky terms with company founder Dave Portnoy.

Before his career in sports media, Compton played college football at the University of Nebraska from 2008 to 2012 before signing with the then-Washington Redskins as an undrafted free agent in 2013. Compton played for Washington until 2017, and then spent the final few years of his career with the Tennessee Titans (where he and Lewan became friends), New Orleans Saints, and Las Vegas Raiders until he retired in 2021.
