At some point in the future, I really hope that we’re fortunate enough to have a TV show where former Saturday Night Live cast members just get together to talk about all of the behind-the-scenes stuff that went on, and share stories about their time together.
Seriously, if Tina Fey was to announce her own streaming network tomorrow with a show where she’d bring on former SNL castmates I’d sign up immediately just to hear stories of how the sketches came together and all of the other shit that went on when the cameras weren’t rolling.
We get a glimpse of that here thanks to Will Ferrell who was a guest on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon where the two just sort of shoot the shit.
The portion of this clip that drew me in was where they talk about ‘The Love-ahs’ sketch(es) from Saturday Night Live where Will Ferrell and Rachel Dratch were obscenely affectionate in the hot tub. Will shares a bit about how he would mess with Jimmy under the water to try and get him to break. There are actually two clips if you dig the first one like I did:

I think I could watch Will Ferrell read the phone book and it would still be funny. I recognize that this was the plot of Tracy Jordan’s (Morgan) one-man Broadway play on 30 Rock when he was going for his EGOT but that was, of course, written by Tina Fey and now we’ve come full circle.
