New Mexico Woman Orders Garlic Parmesan Tenders From Wingstop. Then She Takes A Bite: ‘Girl Sue Them NOW’

A woman took a bite of a garlic parmesan chicken tender from Wingstop and noticed a weird texture. She looked down in disgust at the half-eaten chicken and saw that it wasn’t fully cooked.

In a video with over 2.4 million views, TikToker Izzy Meyer (@elizabeth03meyer) shows the raw chicken on camera. The edges of the chicken appear cooked, but the inside is completely pink. She tags the Alamogordo, New Mexico, Wingstop in the video.

On-screen text reads, “Y’all I just realized this is fcking RAW.” In the caption she writes, “I just wanted garlic parm chicken tenders. PS they gave me a free brownie tho.”

What Happens If A Restaurant Gives You Raw Chicken?

Eating raw chicken can be dangerous, because chicken must be cooked to an internal temperature of 165 F in order to kill pathogens. Raw or undercooked chicken may still harbor diseases that can cause food poisoning, according to the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services.

Restaurant-goers who accidentally ate raw or undercooked chicken shared how they handled similar situations on the r/mildlyinfuriating subreddit.

“After picking up campylobacter from undercooked chicken at a restaurant a few years ago, I flat out don’t trust other people to cook my chicken,” one shared. “I was so sick, I broke down and was crying for my mom while in the fetal position after crapping my brains out for days on end. Nasty stuff.”

Another said, “I ate some chicken that was clearly bad about 30 years ago and it was what pushed me over the edge to become vegetarian. I had thought about it as an adult but never took that step.”

If someone gets sick from eating raw chicken and can prove they contracted the illness from a restaurant, they may be able to seek compensation, according to RTR Law.

Do Viewers Think She Should Contact Wingstop?

Commenters on the viral TikTok suggested that a free Wingstop brownie wasn’t enough to make up for the potentially dangerous raw chicken tender.

“I would’ve rushed to the er and file a report and get a lawsuit on them,” one suggested. Meyer responded, “ughhh i should.”

A second wrote, “Girl a free brownie is not going to cut it you need to contact them.”

“Holy lawsuit,” another exclaimed.

Others claimed Wingstop also served them raw chicken. BroBible previously reported that another TikToker received undercooked chicken wings from Wingstop.

“Literally the three different times we’ve tried wingstop in our town, SAME issue. I absolutely refuse to eat there…” a commenter said.

“One time I ordered a 10 piece and they were all raw. I called DoorDash they said no refund, I called the store instead and they legit said ‘oh this happens all the time! Sorry! We will refund you’ this happens all the time??? I never ate there again,” another shared.
