A woman was stunned to learn the value of some Pokémon cards that she found in an old binder she had in storage. She had collected the cards as a child and had no idea that someday they would be worth so much.
After finding the Pokémon cards among several of her old items, she got curious. So she them to Deep Dive Games Athens, a location for the local table-top gaming community to buy and sell items, in Athens, Ohio. Upon getting a look at some of the valuable cards the woman had in her possession, an employee at Deep Dive Games Athens decided to make a video and share it on TikTok.
“Customer brought in a binder they found in storage. Asked if they were worth anything…” Deep Dive Games Athens wrote on the video with the caption, “Pokémon holy grail.”
An amazing Pokémon collection
While flipping through the binder and looking at the cards, the store employee can be heard saying, “I need to send this to my Pokémon Discord channel so they just, like, lose their ever loving minds.”
“I did not realize. I thought maybe it was a couple hundred dollars,” the woman replied back.
The employee goes on to tell the woman that he has bought some of the cards in the binder for $50 to $100. “Not even near mint,” he added.
When she offered to give the store one of the trading cards if they found one they liked, they respectfully declined, saying, “they’re all $300, $400, $500.” They also pointed out that even some of the most pedestrian of her Pokémon cards are still worth around $20.
“I’m shaking,” the store employee said as he kept flipping through the binder.
Among the cards in her Pokémon collection were a first edition Charizard, which has sold for more than $300,000 in the past. Hers, however, was in German, so how that would affect its price, they didn’t say. She also had a Crystal Lugia, and a first edition Gyarados card.

Viewers couldn’t believe it
“Crystal Lugia just casually sitting there is crazy,” read one comment.
“Solid $100,000 collection,” someone else wrote, while another said, “That’s retirement sorted lol.”
“This might be the craziest binder I’ve ever seen, my heart rate went up higher with every page,” another gobsmacked viewer commented.
“This is insane, she seems like a really sweet kind person I’m glad she went to you and didn’t get swindled by some bad person,” commented another viewer.
“Not only is this a solid collection, but the guys helping her are peak for not taking advantage of her,” another viewer wrote, again complimenting the store’s employees.
