A Tribe Called Quest Are Releasing One Final Album And It Will Be Released In 2 Weeks

Legendary hip-hop group A Tribe Called Quest will be releasing their final album. The announcement about the untitled album was made by Q-Tip, who posted a handwritten note to social media.

The motivation for one last project come from their reunion performance on The Tonight Show last November.

“The energy for us that night was one that we hadn’t experienced on stage together in some time,” he recounted. “As we left 30 Rock, I felt the need, we all did, to get back to the studio and start that cook up.”

The album comes despite the death of Malik “Phife Dawg” Taylor back on March 22nd.

“He left us with the blueprint of what we had to do,” Q-Tip said.

The surviving members then teamed with Busta Rhymes and Consequence.

“We completed what will be, obviously, the final A Tribe Called Quest album,” said Q-Tip.

“We will complete our paths of rhythm,” Q-Tip said of the album and described the new material as “that pure, unstopped on pure.”

In August, Epic Records CEO L.A. Reid commented on the forthcoming ATCQ album. “It’s something special,” he said. “It’s one of the things I’m most excited about over everything we’re working on.”

A Tribe Called Quest’s last album came with 1998’s “The Love Movement,” the same year that the group broke up.

The new album will be released on November 11th.
