Here’s The Hell Yeah Trailer For ‘Billy Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk’, A Movie That Might Run Away With All The Awards

Sony Pictures just released the teaser trailer for Oscar-winning director Ang Lee’s next film Billy Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk and if the movie is half as good as this promo, Lee and Company should clear some room on their mantels because trophies gon’ come, son.

Reminds me a little bit of American Sniper (fingers crossed there aren’t any fake babies) with some Jarhead and even some Last Boy Scout mixed in. Something in that soldier’s eyes at halftime show scares the hair off my sack. If you’ve seen the opening scene of LBS, you know what I’m talking about. Reeeaallly hoping that doesn’t happen here.

Anyway, here’s the video description:

“Director Ang Lee brings his extraordinary vision to Billy Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk, based on the widely-acclaimed, bestselling novel. The film is told from the point of view of 19-year-old private Billy Lynn who, along with his fellow soldiers in Bravo Squad, becomes a hero after a harrowing Iraq battle and is brought home temporarily for a victory tour. Through flashbacks, culminating at the spectacular halftime show of the Thanksgiving Day football game, the film reveals what really happened to the squad – contrasting the realities of the war with America’s perceptions. Lee used new technology, shooting at an ultra-high frame rate for the first time in film history, to create an immersive digital experience helping him dramatize war in a way never seen before.”

The film’s cast includes Kristen Stewart (WHAT), Chris Tucker (WHAT), Garrett Hedlund, Vin Diesel (WHAT), and Steve Martin (WHAT) in the most random assembly of actors I’ve seen in a long halftime walk.

The feature also marks the debut of Joe Alwyn who could be about to blow up in the popularity department, not in the literal manner. I know it’s way, way, way too premature to hop on board the hype hyperloop, but Alwyn could be the next DiCaprio or Damon or Denzel. That’s how tight this teaser was. Getting me all twitchy and ‘ish.
