If you’re unfamiliar with the original version of The Office, please get familiar. It’s stellar and almost perfect. It’s just two seasons and a special episode of shear brilliance. The US version of the show was good (a couple of seasons fell slightly short) and Michael Scott will always have a place in TV history but he’s no David Brent. David Brent is the worst boss/coworker anyone could ever have.
Gervais is bringing the insane awkwardness and hilarity of David Brent back, this time to the big screen, in David Brent: Life on the Road. In this mockumentary, Brent brings his “fans” up to speed on his latest endeavors and his transition into the life of a rockstar…who also happens to have a day job as a sales rep.
In this clip, Brent sings one of his new songs for coworkers and let’s just assume he spent the rest of the day talking to HR.
