Considering that the Fantastic Four is a Marvel movie it’s more than a bit surprising that the film’s first trailer is only just now being released. With the successes of Guardians of the Galaxy and X-Men: Days of Future Past in 2014 one would have expected the Marvel hype machine to have been full effect by now.
Then again Fantastic Four, like X-Men, is a 20th Century Fox production while Marvel and Disney are behind films like Guardians and The Avengers. Just don’t expect to see much, if any, crossover between the Fantastic Four and the X-Men.
That being said, fans of the superhero genre will still be very pleased to finally get a glimpse of the movie’s first teaser trailer.
The film stars Miles Teller as Reed Richards/Mr. Fantastic, Kate Mara as Susan Storm/Invisible Woman, Michael B. Jordan as Johnny Storm/Human Torch, Jamie Bell as Ben Grimm/The Thing, and Toby Kebbell as Victor Domashev/Doctor Doom, and will be directed by Josh Trank.
Synopsis: Fantastic Four, a contemporary re-imagining of Marvel’s original and longest-running superhero team, centers on four young outsiders who teleport to an alternate and dangerous universe, which alters their physical form in shocking ways. Their lives irrevocably upended, the team must learn to harness their daunting new abilities and work together to save Earth from a former friend turned enemy.
Fantastic Four is scheduled for nationwide release on August 7, 2015.
