Soon after the Seinfeld episode with George Costanza’s fantastic answering machine message aired, I took it upon myself to change my family’s outgoing recording to a cheaper version sung by my pre-pubescent voice.
For some reason, my parents were not thrilled when they found out I’d made the executive decision to do this.
All these years later and I regret nothing.
Because I recognized the brilliance and wanted to put it to work for me and my family.
Also a fan of this pivotal scene? Kat Dennings of 2 Broke Girls.
The only difference between she and I is that she was able to go straight to the source and have Jason Alexander record her custom message in person on The Late Late Show with James Corban.
The lesson, as always, is to be famous. That’s how you get the good shit.
