‘Glee’ Star Found Dead from ‘Apparent’ Drug Overdose

Hotel security footage showed Monteith out with friends on Friday evening; he returned to his room, at the Fairmont Pacific Rim Hotel, early Saturday morning. An autopsy and toxicology report will paint a clearer picture of what exactly killed the star, but, regardless, dying alone in a hotel room at 31 is tragic.

Monteith's character, Finn, began Glee's run as the stereotypical cool kid/jock, but critics soon began to notice the emotional weight Monteith brought to an increasingly ridiculous show. This moment—a performance of “Don't Stop Believin'” with real-life girlfriend Lea Michele—may end up as the defining point of his career:
