I regret not getting to this sooner, but I would be remiss if I didn’t point out the obvious. British director Steve McQueen received his fair share of camera time during Sunday night’s Academy Awards, which turned out to be a great blessing. Who knew watching a man clap could be such great theater?
We’ve seen the bizarre hand motion before. In fact, LSU coach Les Miles has made it pretty famous on fall Saturdays.
While not making contact while clapping seems like a pretty crazy thing to do, these are two fairly accomplished human beings. I, on the other hand, put waffle syrup on a tomato basil tortilla and called it breakfast this morning, so maybe I shouldn’t be judging.
