Jared Leto has come a long way from teen heartthrob. His band is huge, he won an Academy Award, and he might have signed on to play one of the most iconic villains in pop culture history.
According to The Wrap, Leto is being heavily considered for the role of the green-haired lunatic in the movie Suicide Squad. Suicide Squad is the story of the government enlisting supervillains — like Joker, Lex Luthor and a couple Kardashians — for secret missions in exchange for their freedom once the job is completed.
Vulture is reporting that Jesse Eisenberg is expected to reprise his role of Lex Luthor and Tom Hardy, Will Smith, and Margot Robbie are in discussions for various parts. Margot Robbie is rumored to be up for the role of Harley Quinn, Tom Hardy as Bane and Will Smith as the Fresh Prince of Arkham Asylum.
So what do you think about the possibility of Jared Leto reprising the role of the true lunatic fringe? He’d have some huge shoes to fill after Heath Ledger.
