Kid Rock Told Confederate Flag Protestors To ‘Kiss My Ass’ When Asked To Remove The Flag From His Concerts

Am I the only one who thought Kid Rock was dead? Now that I know he’s alive, who the fuck goes to Kid Rock concerts? It’s 2015, not 1994. Does he still make music? Do people actually buy his stuff? I’m pretty sure if you asked anyone if they listen to Kid Rock the answer would be an over-confident “NO?!” regardless of whether or not they jammed out to him during the car ride to work. Kid Rock is like a wet shart; it happens to lots of people, but are you going to admit in public? Obviously not.

But apparently some people live sad, sad lives and choose to pay money to see Kid Rock perform in concert. Money! You couldn’t get me to go for free, let alone pay more than a nickel. Enough hating on the Kid though – he’s got enough on his plate to deal with right now, like how he doesn’t like the protestors who are demanding that he remove the Confederate flag from his concerts. According to The Wrap,

Kid Rock has a way with words that probably won’t please protestors demanding that the Confederate flag be removed from his shows.

“Please tell the people who are protesting to kiss my ass,” the rock star said in a statement to Fox News.

His blunt reaction to the controversy comes after the Detroit chapter of Al Sharpton’s National Action Network met at the Detroit Historical Museum to protest Rock’s decision to display the flag on stage during his concerts.

Rev. Charles Williams II, the president of the group’s Michigan chapter, called Kid Rock “the home-town hero who is a zero with the Confederate flag.”

Sam Riddle, the group’s political director, asked, “How in the hell canKid Rock represent Detroit and wave that flag just generating millions and millions in ticket sales – a flag that represents genocide to most of Detroit?”(via)

Requesting that Kid Rock and the 8 people in the audience at what I’m assuming is a backyard concert at his Mom’s house seems silly, mostly because if you’re attending a Kid Rock concert you’re probably too set in your ways to give enough shits to change. Then again what do I know? I’m still not 100% convinced he’s actually alive.
