We’ve been wondering why Leo DiCaprio’s been sporting the shaggy beard and man bun look of late, and it’s now apparent. His latest role has him as the most woodsy, bad-ass outdoorsman you’ve ever seen.
The Revenant comes from director Alejandro G. Iñárritu, who recently did Birdman, and tells the true story of Hugh Glass, a hunter who gets mauled by a bear during an expedition in South Dakota in 1823 and left for dead.
Glass somehow survives, and despite being badly injured, drags himself 200 miles over the course of six weeks to safety. Then he goes about exacting revenge on the people who left him.
