Here’s Approximately How Much Money Everyone Makes On A Big Budget Film And Trained Cats Make Bank

Vanity Fair did a breakdown of a hypothetical big budget Hollywood blockbuster to get an approximation of the money each person involved in a film takes home. It’s bonkers.

Here’s more:

In using the budgets actual +200MM blockbuster movies as references, this video excludes non-human costs, and reflects an approximation of the take home pay of all humans involved, based on average union rates.

Disclaimer: Please note not every budget breakdown is the same, and some roles are subject to wider fluctuations than others. This is here to serve as approximations based on a hypothetical film which has never been made.

In other words, this is just a made up guess and sometimes people take home way, way more. Like that time Johnny Depp took home $53 million for dressing like Keith Richards in a pirate costume.

The lower down the credits, the less money everyone makes, until you get to the goddamn cat. I’m teaching my cat how to look unaffected on camera and to laugh at Vince Vaughn. Then I’m just raking in the cash.
